Absentee Voting

Vote by Mail Ballots

An absentee ballot (vote by mail ballot) can be requested when a registered voter will not be available to vote at a polling place on the day of an election. Vote by Mail ballot applications are available in the Clerk’s Office and at the County Board of Elections.

Ballots are time restricted and the public is made aware of this. Either the Clerk’s Office or the County Board of Elections should advise them when their ballot must be at the County Board of Elections for acceptance. The County Board of Elections coordinates with the Clerk’s Office to pick up absentee / vote by mail ballots at the appropriate time if the party leaves their ballot in the Clerk's Office.
