Recycling Schedule

Responsibilities


The Howell Township Recycling Department oversees the collection of curbside recycling, operates the recycling center, and provides recycling education. In addition, the Recycling Department monitors businesses and construction projects for recycling compliance.

Recycling Center Location and Hours


Location: 278 Old Tavern Road, next to the Public Works building

Hours of operation: 7:30am-3pm, Seven days a week (Closed Holidays)

The following recyclables will be accepted at the Recycling Center:


  • Glass Jars and Bottles, Flattened corrugated cardboard, Mixed Paper, Aluminum and Tin Cans, Plastic Bottles (#1 and #2 Pourable Bottles), Newspapers
  • Leaves, Brush
  • Used Motor Oil
  • Automobile Batteries
  • Appliances, Light metals
  • Used Clothing
  • Televisions, Computers, Monitors, Laptops
  • Residents should bring a Driver’s License to prove residence

The followings items are not be accepted at the Recycling Center:


  • Food Trays, Aluminum Foil, Cardboard with food or grease on it, Plastic Clam Shell Containers (The type that contained fruits and vegetables)
  • Window Glass
  • Clothes Hangers
  • Glassware, Cooking Pots
  • Flower pots
  • Plastic Bags
  • Trash
  • Rechargeable Batteries, Household Batteries
  • Plastic Buckets
  • Concrete, Asphalt, Construction Debris
  • Window Glass,
  • Bulk waste, Furniture
  • Grass, Stumps
  • Tires
  • Construction Debris
