Member Requirements
- One Class I member whose term runs concurrent with the mayor's term
- One Class II member with a 1 year term - Official of the Township
- One Class III member with a 1 year term - Township Councilmember
- Six Class IV members with 4 year term
- Alternates I and II with 2 year terms
Appointment
- The mayor appoints Class I and II.
- The Township Council appoints Class III and IV and alternates.
- The chair is appointed amongst the board members.
Purpose
The board shall have the duty to make, adopt, and from time to time amend a master plan for the physical development of the Township, including any areas outside its boundaries, which in the board's judgment bear essential relation to the planning of the Township. The board shall also administer the provisions of the land subdivision ordinance and site plan review ordinance of the Township in accordance with the provisions of said ordinance and the Municipal Land Use Law. In addition, the board shall consider development applications as filed.
