Purpose:
The Committee’s purpose is to assist the Township by addressing and mediating any municipal court disputes concerning dogs as may be deemed appropriate by the Municipal Court Judge and by fielding any complaints and issues of concern in reference to dogs, including but not limited to, leash laws, clean up/nuisance ordinances, thereby making sure the Howell Township residents are abiding by existing local regulations concerning dogs. B.A.R.C. will also work with the recreation department in offering dog training classes, and recommending activities involving dogs for philanthropic and therapeutic purposes, to address those dog related issues appropriate for intervention by B.A.R.C. thereby ensuring the residents, pet owners and non-pet owners comply with the governing regulations concerning dogs.
