The Howell Municipal Alliance (HTMA) is a non-profit organization committed to providing educational programming and prevention outreach to the citizens of Howell. It's funding comes from a DEDR grant through the Governor's Office of Alcoholism, Drug Abuse and Addiction Services with matching funds from the Township of Howell.
The HTMA was authorized by the Township of Howell in 1989 to promote the prevention efforts of the State of New Jersey at the community level.
HTMA is a volunteer-based, grant-funded organization, which bases its success on the contribution from Howell’s concerned, caring, and motivated citizens. One person coordinates HTMA: The only person who was appointed by the township in 2000. After the Howell Township dissolved Human Service Department in 2005, which forced members off Howell community to rely on the larger institution of Monmouth County for all its youth and family services. On the other hand, it continues to provide resources, appropriate funding, and service to the community. We look forward to continuing our services 20 years of service to the community.
Today, we continue to request your help! There are many opportunities for you to help our children. HTMA has recently contributed to child’s cancer struggle, given four scholarships to students attending a peer leadership conference, and fully sponsored a highly successful lunch program (Smart Lunch) where children receive special attention and mentoring during lunch by caring faculty members.
