Business Recycling in Howell Township


Business recycling is mandatory. If needed, contact a recycling hauler for a cardboard, single stream, or commingled recycling container. All trash and recycling containers must be labeled.

Recyclables


The following items shall not be placed in the trash and must be recycled:
  • Aluminum and tin cans (for example: soda, coffee, tuna fish)
  • Plastic type 1 and 2, pourable bottles (for example: milk, water, juice, soda, laundry detergent, bleach, shampoo, or conditioner)
  • Corrugated cardboard
  • Glass jars and bottles
  • Mixed Paper (for example: various recyclable paper including, but not limited to printer paper, construction paper, junk mail, magazines, soft cover books)
  • Newspapers

Banned from Trash

  • Asphalt
  • Block
  • Brick
  • Car batteries
  • Concrete
  • Televisions, Computers, Monitors, Laptops
  • Ferrous and non-ferrous metal weighing more than five pounds
  • Grass clippings
  • Leaves
  • Motor oil
  • Rechargeable batteries
  • Tree parts over three inches in diameter
