Senior Citizen's Department


Most of the activities at the Howell Senior Center are free. Often a suggested donation is requested. Participants must be members and membership is free. One must come into the Senior Center to register during hours of operation. Call (732) 938-4500 ext. 2550 for further information about registering and about our programs.

English as a Second Language for the Older Learner

Howell Township Senior Services is offering English as a Second Language classes for the older learner. The curriculum will focus on improving everyday communication skills and enhancing social interactions. Enrollment is ongoing.
Interested participants must be 60 years of age or older, a registered member of the center and must reside in Howell Township. For additional information, please contact:  Social Worker at 732-938-4500 X 2553

Exercise


Physical health is an important component of our department. We offer free exercise classes, including aerobics, chair yoga, T’ai Chi and walking club. Free health screenings are offered at our annual health fair as well as periodically during the year.


Trips


In addition to programs at our Senior Center, we sometimes take trips to local restaurants, shopping centers and malls, and theaters. Free transportation to our center and to outside trips is provided by our department.

Our activities schedule, as well as information pertinent to senior citizens and family members, are offered in our newsletter, which comes out every month. The newsletter may be found on the township website or you may request a copy by calling our department at (732) 938-4500, ext. 2550.
