NOTICE is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held for the purpose of receiving comments on an application to the County of Monmouth for Open Space Trust Funds under the Monmouth County Municipal Open Space Grant Program. The Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 in the Main Meeting Room at the Township of Howell, 4567 Route 9 North, 2nd Floor, Howell, NJ 07731 at 6:00 PM at which time all persons who may be interested therein will be given an opportunity to be heard. Written comments may also be submitted and will be accepted by the Township Clerk prior to the hearing date and time.
The Township of Howell desires to obtain grant funds in order to develop two (2) segments of the Capitol to the Coast Trail, including: 1) From the entrance of Soldier Memorial Park (579 Lakewood-Farmingdale Road (CR 547)) at the intersection with Maxim Road, extending along Maxim Road west for approximately 1,200 ft and then extending approximately 480 ft north to the North Branch Squankum Brook within the Bear Swamp Natural Area (Maxim Road) to connect to the existing unimproved trail. Impacted properties may include Block 46, Lot 28; an easement along Block 51, Lot 42.01; Block 51, Lot 42.02 and Block 51, Lot 41.01; and, 2) Along Preventorium Road starting approximately 1,800 ft north of the intersection with Maxim Road at the existing unimproved trail extending north approximately 2,140 ft to Oak Glen Park (Preventorium Road) and then extending west approximately 560 ft to connect to the existing multi-use trail. Impacted properties may include Block 51, Lot 12, and Block 66.01, Lot 29.
