[ARCHIVED] Fall Leaf Pickup Update

DPW leaf pickup crews have completed the first pass through Zone E and F, and are currently picking up leaves in Zone G.  We will then continue the process through Zones H, I, A, B, C and then D.  As a reminder, Please adhere to the following guidelines.  Place leaves only (mixed piles will not be collected) at the edge of the curb, and not in the traffic lane.  DO NOT bag your leaves, and keep leaf piles clear of storm drains to prevent flooding.  If your property is adjacent to wooded areas that allow you to blow the leaves into, please do so, as leaves will decompose, returning essential nutrients back into the soil, providing for a healthier environment for your trees.  If have a garden, one thing you can do is just dump your excess leaves there and let them compost on top of the soil over the winter. It doesn't matter how many leaves you unload on the garden, so long as you let them decompose over the winter before tilling them under in the spring
