DPW leaf pickup crews are currently working in Zone G. Once completed we will continue the process through Zones H, I, J, A, B, C, D and E until all zones have had a first pass. Once completed, weather permitting, they will begin a second pass. As a reminder, Please adhere to the following guidelines. Place leaves only (mixed piles will not be collected) at the edge of the curb, and not in the traffic lane. DO NOT bag your leaves, and keep leaf piles clear of storm drains to prevent flooding. If your property is adjacent to wooded areas that allow you to blow the leaves into it, please do so, as leaves will decompose, returning essential nutrients back into the soil, providing for a healthier environment for your trees. If have a garden, one thing you can do is just dump your excess leaves there and let them compost on top of the soil over the winter. It doesn't matter how many leaves you unload on the garden, so long as you let them decompose over the winter before tilling them under in the spring.
As always, residents can bring their leaves to Howell’s Recycling Center at 278 Old Tavern Road, 7:30AM – 3:00PM seven days a week.
