The Howell Fire Bureau in cooperation with Energizer and the International Association of Fire Chiefs will be distributing donated batteries to seniors and low-income citizens during the Change Your Clock Change Your Battery Home Fire Safety Program weekend.
Daylight-savings time ends Sunday, November 3, 2013, and reminds us to change and test the batteries in our smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. The Change Your Clock Change Your Battery message is simple and the habit can be lifesaving.
Please stop by the Howell Fire Bureau on Friday, November 1, 2013 for your free batteries. Distribution will be first come, first serve for qualified individuals and while supplies last.
Households will have a choice of (4) AA batteries or (2) 9-volt batteries.
