[ARCHIVED] Howell Township, Winter Weather Statement Saturday, February 15, 2014 6:00pm

Dear Residents:

With the snowfall estimated to end at 9:00pm, Howell Township will continue to open up primary roads and secondary roads throughout the township. Once these main roads are completed, crews will focus their efforts on the numerous streets in the developments.

With temperatures continuing to fall well below freezing Saturday evening, roads and streets will quickly freeze causing hazardous conditions and will quickly deteriorate. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution tonight as there will be numerous icy spots, especially on secondary roads and side streets. Sidewalks and paths will be hazardous to walk on tonight. Please exercise extreme caution if you must venture out. It is recommended that only essential travel take place this evening.

Snow fighting personnel will continue to work through the night maintaining acceptable road and street conditions. As a reminder, due to the active winter season, there is a statewide shortage of salt to treat roadways. Township crews will work as efficiently and effectively as possible with the limited salt supply. As per Township Ordinance; all vehicles, equipment and personal property must be removed from roadways.

Most Sincerely,
Jeffrey Filiatreault
