[ARCHIVED] Howell Township Energy Aggregation Updates And Links

Dear Residents:

Energy Aggregation: The Township of Howell held its auction for an energy supplier on March 4, 2014. The lowest overall rate was $0.095/kWh from Tri - Eagle Energy for an 18th month term. While the rate was below the 'Price to Compare' currently being offered by the Basic Generation Service (BGS) through the Board of Public Utilities, we believe the best interests of the residents of Howell is better served by rejecting all bids and conducting another auction in April. The link below demonstrates this.

On April 8, 2014 our Energy Consultants will be available to answer any questions residents may have, both before and during the Council meeting. We anticipate having the results of the April auction at that time as well. Energy aggregation allows municipalities to offer their residents lower electric rates than those currently offered through the Board of Public Utilities. Our goal is to save money for the residents whenever and wherever possible
