Important Snow Storm Information from the Howell Township Office of Emergency Management
Release Date: January 25, 2015
The Howell Township Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is tracking a major winter storm forecast to impact the area between Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning. The latest briefing from Monmouth County Emergency Management advises a blizzard watch is in effect. This storm has the potential to drop 8-12+ inches across the region depending upon the final storm track. The forecast snow accumulation and the high winds will challenge snow removal efforts. The Department of Public Works is on standby and will work through the storm to keep the primary roads passable. The timing for secondary road clearance will be dependent upon the intensity and duration of the storm. Howell OEM would like to kindly remind residents that vehicles must be removed from roadways during plowing operations. We ask all residents to be patient with the snow clearing operation.
In the event storm conditions warrant, Howell OEM will activate the Emergency Operations Command Center and provide further information as needed. Emergency messages will be posted on the Township website as well as broadcast via the Township’s e-mail notification system, and the emergency notification phone system. Most importantly, if you can stay off of the roads during the storm, please do so. Thank you for your cooperation.
