[ARCHIVED] A Safe And Happy Labor Day From Howell Township Council

Dear Residents,

As we approach the end of another summer season, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a very safe and happy Labor Day holiday.

Although, Labor Day has become the celebration by most Americans as the end of summer, beginning of school and the start of the NFL and NCAA football games, we also want to remember the true meaning of this day and thank all our employees of Howell Township for their contributions to the mission to help sustain our commitment to the residents of keeping Howell township a safe and maintaining the quality of life our community enjoys.

Lastly, as our children get ready to go back to school, we want to once again take this opportunity to remind residents and drivers to be aware of students at bus stops and be alert to stopped school buses. As we move into the fall season, daylight will become shorter making it difficult to see children as they wait for the bus or walk to school. Extra precaution and driving slower during school hours will help ensure our children are safe.

It’s always a priority of this administration and Police Department to keep our children safe. To that end, Howell Police will ensure our drivers obey traffic regulations around school zones. Please drive safely and pay extra attention during school hours. Thank you for your cooperation and we hope you enjoy the remainder of summer.

Sincerely;

William Gotto, Mayor
Rob Nicastro, Deputy Mayor
Edward Guz, Councilman
Pauline Smith, Councilwoman
Robert Walsh, Councilman
