Grant Writing Workshop - Applying for the FY16 UASI Nonprofit Security Grant Program

A grant writing workshop is being offered by the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness to nonprofit organizations who are eligible to apply under the FY16 Nonprofit Security Grant Program. Eligible nonprofits must be located within the following UASI/MSA region: Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Pike County, Pa. 
 
The workshop is intended to give the applicants a better understanding of the process. This will include how to complete the application, scoring and the grant administration processes. 
 
The workshop will be held on Monday, February 22, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the New Jersey Forensic Science Technology Center (Auditorium), 1200 Negron Dr., Hamilton, NJ 08691. 
 
Space is limited and pre-registration submissions are required by registering through the following link: http://www.njhomelandsecurity.gov/calendar/grantworkshop. Early pre-registration is encouraged and will be given to the first 180 registrants.  Completed registration forms for each participant must be submitted by Tuesday, February 16, 2016.  Once received, a confirmation email will be sent with a copy of the agenda and directions to the facility. Please, only one (or two) representative(s) per organization should attend, thank you.
  
The Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) provides funding to organizations, as described under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, at high risk of terrorist attacks and located within designated areas of New Jersey. Eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations must utilize funding for the purchase and installation of security equipment on property owned or leased by the nonprofit organization. Equipment is limited to select items contained within categories 14 and 15 on FEMA's Authorized Equipment List; they include CCTV, card access readers, blast film, lighting, fencing, and bollards.
