[ARCHIVED] Storm Update 3:57pm October 31, 2012

Residents,

The Township has made arrangements for water distribution for those residents on wells and have no access to water. The current locations are open from until 5:00pm:
1. Southard Fire House - Rt 9 N
2. Adelphia Fire House - Rt. 524
3. Ramtown Fire House - Ramtown Greenville Road
4. Howell Township Department of Public Works - Old Tavern Rd.

Residents that have city water and are serviced by New Jersey American Water or Brick MUA have no water quality issues. NJAW is asking customers to voluntarily conserve water as some of their facilities are operating on emergency generators. We want to emphasize that service has not been interrupted and the company has not issued any boil water advisories.

Currently the Township is mobilizing staff and volunteers to clear the extensive aftermath. We are asking residents to assist us with clearing any areas without downed wires. Again, we cannot stress enough, for your safety, to stay away from downed wires. Assume every wire is a live wire.

For residents' convenience, our recyling center located on Old Tavern Road will remain open seven days a week from 7:30am to 3:00pm to bring brush and leaves.

Again, we cannot stress enough, for your safety, and the safety of others, to please stay off the roads as much as possible. As darkness falls, you may not be able to see the downed power lines or other hazards.

Continue to check the Township website for further updates.
