In collaboration with the Howell Township Governing Body, Howell Police Department and the Department of Public Works; Howell Township’s Mayor Bill Gotto and the governing body unveiled a 'Thin Blue Line' painted on the road on October 28 in support of the township's police force.
The ‘Thin Blue Line’, is located in between the double yellow line in the middle of the street in front of police headquarters on Old Tavern Road. This symbol is used by law enforcements throughout the United States to commemorate fallen officers and to symbolize the relationship of the police in the community as the protectors of the citizenry from the criminal element.
